1st Day Off - Tribute to the Darrough's

The Misfits had our first day off since coming to Turlock. Our Series had an off day on Monday.

Things to pray about: 26,000+ mailers are still at the Post Office. They still have not been sent. Please pray that our mailers get sent out.

Anthony, Nick and Jessica went ice skatting with some of the contacts.

Michael spent the day with the Darroughs.

Michael has become close friends with the family after he helped play a part in Justin's baptism. He was invited to visit the site where Marc and Jessica spent their final moments. Monday marked the 1 year anniversary of that tragedy that gripped the hearts of many including Michael, who did not know the family personally at the time but he saw the news footage and read the newspaper reports.

Opening Night! "Unlocking the Mysteries Turlock Edition"

Please pray for us. The devil is attacking.

First, our 26,000+ fliers are still sitting at the post office. Turns out the post office has just been keeping them there.

Secondly, one of the contacts who really wanted to come, was arrested today and most likely will not be able to come.

So here we are on opening night, we had 70ish in attendance.

One of the greatest blessings is that one of the Misfit members: Anthony has a lot of family here who is excited to go to the meetings.

The show must go on

The Misfits ended their first Evangelistic series on March 21, and quickly hit the road that night. They had to join their brothers and sisters from Finish the work the next day in Azusa (Los Angeles county) for a week of prayer.

Here are some highlights:

*Revival and reformation messages
*Taking the church door to door and introducing them to G.L.O.W (Giving Light to Our World)

One group discussing their "battle plans"
2 young men in white shirts and dark pants...hmm... where have we seen this before?

One of the teams trying to persuade a man to take the survey and a GLOW tract

Moral of the story, guy on the left can run because he has comfortable shoes, girl in the middle wants to skateboard next time and the girl to the right learned very quickly not to wear high heels...but she still went door to door...Barefoot!

Finish the Work tradition: Circle and pray

One of the biggest door to door showings EVER. Almost 50 people

We jumped for joy! because so many people went door to door and that we got bible study contacts and many GLOW tracts were passed out!

Tribute to the Miranda's

There is a house, a family that will always be remembered. This portion of the blog is dedicated entirely to Godfrey and Debbie Miranda...oh and Kirsten too ;o)

This is what they had to endure:
Alarms going off at 345am when The Misfits would hold their morning prayer sessions.
Giving up their study room and making it a room filled with suit cases, dirty laundry and books
Giving up one of their upstairs bedrooms and making it a permanent dwelling place for the girls
Putting up with the smell of us downing garlic like gumdrops
Spilled Hot Cacao on their beautiful dining room set and "light" carpet
The constant use or misuse of us "Misfits" playing on Godfrey's family given Taylor Guitar
Having to go grocery shopping almost every other day for Food
Cold showers- since the Misfits would take a shower and use up all the hot water

In an act of thankfulness we got Godfrey, Debbie and Kirsten- gifts of good cheer:

The Misfits and the baptismal canditates

The Misfits will never forget the Experience at Modesto Central: Some of the Highlights:

Michael picked up the phone and a random woman saw the flier and asked if she could RSVP to the Evangelistic Series. She attended faithfully and ended up getting baptized!!

Michael was the speaker for Camp Wawona's young adult weekend last April. One of Michael's friends brought up Justin who just 2 months prior expressed no interest in Spiritual matters. At the weekend retreat, Michael said something that made Justin search the Scriptures. Shortly after, and thanks mostly due to the bible studies of Pamela (Ceres Bible worker) and Godfrey (Modesto SDA Associate pastor) Justin began to warm up to God's calling in his life. Through his family and friends praying for him and 10 months later, Justin got baptized at the end of the series!

Matt and Reiko found out about the series through the Modesto Central Church website. Matt was a backslidden Adventist who married Reiko a non-Adventist. But Reiko was interested in learning more about God. They decided to attend the meetings and were one of the most faithful attendees. Matt recommitted his life to the Lord through Re-Baptism and Reiko got Baptized!

Leno never came out to the series until Lorenzo a church member invited him and he came to one of the last meeting: "Miss Universe" God's true church. that was the first call to baptism and Leno stood up for baptism. Summarizing what he said: "I know I need to join God's church"

John was invited by Richard, John was to "argue with Richard" about bible related issues. However after attending EVERY meeting of the series John surrendered his life through watery baptism.

These are just a small blurb of some of the people who surrendered their life to the Lord through the watery grave of baptism.

And all of God's people said: AMEN
